Is Someone Leaving Grey's?

I think G-d has answered my prayers. Looks like Izzie Stevens may be leaving Grey's. Seems Ms. Izzie, aka - Katherine Heigl, is not happy with her current salary. She would like to be paid commensurate with some of her costars.

Do I smell a Suzanne Sommers - "Three's Company" situation coming on? Or perhaps a little too much ego (David Caruso)? Ah Deja vu.

Of course, Ms. Heigl leaked the current conflict to pressure the producers for more money. Let's see if they bite. I personally would be overjoyed if she left.

With that said, I do hope that she is not jumping ship because she has seen the upcoming story lines and is not pleased. I hope after last week that the writers reign it in and start doing what they used to do and write a good show.

Let's everyone keep their egos in check. The Golden Globes win was great but it is not a license to start taking the story to places no one is interested in seeing it go (Sopranos - and James Gandolfini in "hell" - at a business conference). I don't know why the writers forget that they won the award for their past writing. It is that writing that people want to see.

I pray, no more tangents. One trip to the netherworld is enough for one or even two seasons. Back to basics folks, back to basics.

Thoughts?

I think there are a few who are getting ego happy, (Katherine Heigl, and maybe Isaiah Washington-other than his gneder-bender remarks, he seemed upset that McDreamy got more press than him).

The others seem to want to keep a low profile. I think with some casts there is extreme loathing, to be sure. With others, I think the media makes up dissension in the ranks. They need juicy stories to sell magazines and fill their 30 minute gossip shows (which I love.)

I mean do we really believe that every successful show purportedly has a cast that hates each other? If that were the real odds, you could made a fortune on betting on that. Surely, some of the reported stories are not true. There is always ego at play, but I don't think it is as contagious on these shows as the media would have us believe.

But it would be fun to see everyone "take a different cab" of the lot or at the awards shows. Then they would all look stupid. Besides, 77' wasn't the greatest year anyway.

I just think she thinks too highly of herself, especially with her salary issue. Here the network who is not obligated to pay her anything about her contract rate for 7 years offers to give her a bigger bonus and she balks at that claiming that it is "unfair" that she is not paid as much as her co-stars. Never mind you that they are actually talented (Sandra and Ellen) and seasoned actresses (Sandra) and could both out act her blindfolded. She should have been grateful. She may have a burgeoning movie career, but I see it going nowhere right now. She doesn't have the acting chops.

She is just ungrateful.
